Organized by PublicAdCampaign.org, this unsanctioned aesthetic intervention involved over 100 artists overtaking illegal street-level billboards throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, whitewashing them and installing their own artworks in their place. This is part of an ongoing experiment by Public Ad Campaign to question the roles advertising and art play within public space.

RESIDENCIES

Pine Plains, NY
Autumn Session 2010
Started in 2005, ChaNorth is Chashama’s artist residency program located on a 5-acre estate in Pine Plains, New York. Combining live-in studios with private workspaces, shared gallery areas, a communal kitchen, an ‘organic internship’ with McEnroe Farms , fresh foods, family-style dinners and a serene setting, chaNorth encourages a sense of community through a dialogue of art and life as one. With backgrounds in a wide-range of mediums, seven artists live and create during their one-month session, and present work in an Open Studio event from June-October each year.

Illustration and Painting; graduated with a BFA in Fine Art, Concentration in Painting.
